Participant Release and Waiver of Liability,
Assumption of Risk, and Indemnity Agreement

Event: 3rd Annual Greenpoint Scavenger Hunt

In consideration of being permitted to participate in the 3rd Annual Greenpoint Scavenger Hunt (the "Event"), organized by Brandon McKenzie (the "Organizer"), I, the undersigned participant, hereby agree to the following terms and conditions:

1. Voluntary Participation. I understand that participation in the Event is entirely voluntary. I freely choose to participate with full knowledge that the Event involves physical activity in public outdoor spaces, bars, and other establishments throughout the Greenpoint neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York.
2. Assumption of Risk. I acknowledge that participation in the Event involves inherent risks, including but not limited to: physical injury from walking, running, or navigating urban environments; risks associated with crowded public spaces; exposure to traffic and other street hazards; falls, trips, or collisions; and any other risks associated with participation in an urban scavenger hunt. I voluntarily assume all such risks, known and unknown, foreseeable and unforeseeable.
3. Alcohol Acknowledgment. I affirm that I am at least 21 years of age and of legal drinking age under the laws of the State of New York. I understand and acknowledge that the Event involves access to and consumption of alcoholic beverages at licensed establishments. I agree that any decision to consume alcohol is entirely my own, that I will drink responsibly, and that I take sole and complete responsibility for my own level of intoxication, my behavior while intoxicated, and any consequences — legal, physical, financial, or otherwise — resulting from my consumption of alcohol during or after the Event. I agree that I will not drive a motor vehicle while impaired.
4. Personal Responsibility. I agree that I am solely responsible for my own actions, conduct, and decisions throughout the Event. I agree to comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws, as well as all rules and regulations of any establishment I enter during the Event. I agree not to engage in any behavior that is dangerous, unlawful, harassing, or disruptive to other participants, bystanders, or establishments.
5. Release of Liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, I hereby release, discharge, and hold harmless Brandon McKenzie, the Event organizers, hosts, volunteers, sponsors, and any affiliated individuals (collectively, "Released Parties") from any and all claims, demands, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses — including attorneys' fees — arising out of or related to my participation in the Event, including any claim arising from the negligence of the Released Parties, except to the extent caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct.
6. Indemnification. I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, or expenses (including attorneys' fees) arising out of my participation in the Event, my violation of these terms, or my violation of any law or the rights of any third party.
7. Media Release. I consent to the use of any photographs, videos, or recordings taken during the Event for personal, social media, or promotional purposes related to the Greenpoint Scavenger Hunt.
8. Governing Law. This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York. Any dispute arising hereunder shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York.
9. Severability. If any provision of this Agreement is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
10. Entire Agreement. This Agreement constitutes the entire understanding between me and the Organizer with respect to the subject matter hereof. By checking the box below, I acknowledge that I have read, understood, and voluntarily agree to be bound by all terms of this Agreement.

This document constitutes a legally binding agreement. If you do not agree to these terms, do not register for or participate in the Event.
